I really am starting to like Concrete CMS now that I have found out how to get things like paging and SEO to work.

I just have one issue:

I would like to hide created time and author from the page (post) in the frontend. Since I am the only author there is no need for that info, and the time is not important either. Since it is also in AM/PM time it is not optimal to me since I use 24 hrs.

The date could be ok to leave, but not important.

An easy way to get rid of the author is just to uncheck that in Attributes, but the time I can’t find out how to hide.

If it is necessary to add a css or change in php then I am fine with that aswell.

Coming from WP I realise that there are changes, but Concrete CMS is so much nicer to work with so I would like to be able to fix tis issue.

Thanks in advance.

The meta data (time, author, etc) is likely controlled by the _Page Title_ block and its _Design & Block Template_ setting. You can edit the it by navigating to _Dashboard → Page & Themes → Page Types_ and clicking _Output_ for the _Blog_ page type. \*Note that not all themes use the method.

From there you can edit your blog’s template and change the _Design & Block Template_ setting.

Note that you can also create your own custom view in PHP and apply it if you prefer.

hope that helps

Sorry I should have mentioned the theme I use. It is the standard Atomic theme. I can’t find out where I change CSS or PHP in the admin area (Dashboard). Do I need to hardcode it in the actual php? There are so many different css and php files everywhere, but I feel it would be a shame to leave such a good CMS just because I can’t hide time and author. I do want the date to show.

Or is this not possible in Atomic?

(Sorry about this. I am still used to WP where I easily can add extra css so I just don’t know where to look)

The Atomic theme uses the Page Title block for its output. You’ll find the default view file in /concrete/blocks/page\_title/view.php

You can copy that file into /application/blocks/page\_title/templates/new\_file\_name.php and make changes to the new file as needed. Be sure to apply it to the blog’s template as above.

If I’m not mistaken, the byline.php file is where this is rendered. You’ll need to access the server with Filezilla or use the hosts File Manager to _copy_ this PHP file:

/concrete/themes/atomik/elements/byline.php

to

/application/themes/atomik/elements/byline.php

and modify the php that displays the time and date.

Make sure you go to Dashboard → System and Settings → Cache and speed settings and make sure “Overrides cache” is off so the system looks for and uses your modified byline.php file.

Or I might be completely wrong.
