I have an old Concrete5 5.6.3.1 site, and am considering building a new 9.5.2 site and importing the content of the old site. Is that an option? If it is, what should I know?

I already know that the old site runs on PHP 5.6, and the new one will need PHP 7.0 or later.

I have access to phpMyAdmin and FTP.

The only way to really do this is to use the Importer tools and Export the content from your current site and then Import it into the new site once it’s done.

This will only bring over the blocks/attributes that exist on both sites.

You will also have to update your current site to 5.6.4 before you can install the Migration Tool - [GitHub - concretecms/addon\_migration\_tool\_legacy · GitHub](https://github.com/concretecms/addon_migration_tool_legacy)

Here is the link to the Migration Tool for the v9 site too - [GitHub - concretecms/migration\_tool: Migration tool for Concrete CMS version 9+. · GitHub](https://github.com/concretecms/migration_tool)

What kind of site?

How many pages?

How many of them have worthwhile traffic?

How many do of them can you pension off?

The export/import tool only gets you so far before you need to manually review and correct. If not too many pages, it can be simpler and cost effective to have 2 browser windows side by side and do a manual copy.
