Migration Tool - Is it backward compatible?

Does anyone know if the migration tool is backward compatible i.e. it is showing as for Concrete CMS version 9+ however I need to migrate from a v8.5 to a v9.2. Can I use it on both versions?

Hi Tim, do you think I can export using the old version and import using the new. Its a lot of express items I really don’t want to have to do manually
