Is there a discord for C5? Also, how to use pure CSS grid, no framework? Do I need to create an own framework that uses CSS grid or how to approach it in 2023?

You can create a theme without any underlying grid (so no bootstrap, foundation, etc.). Your own theme does not need to provide any alternative grid. Its entirely up to you.

This way my users can use customizable layouts, they work best, until a more flexible method is constructed for C5 that gives more control to decide how elements should behave at different breakpoints.
