V9 Top Navigation Bar overlooks 'replace link with first in nav' attribute

I am using the Top Navigation Bar block in V9 and it appears the attribute ‘replace link with first in nav’ is being ignored despite it being ticked in the page attributes.
It works fine with the autonav block but not with the Top Navigation block.

I have set up the 301 redirect method mentioned in the tutorials to force it to work but it is a shame it doesn’t work as nicely as it does with the Autonav block.

Have I missed something?

I seem to remember @enlil doing some work on this. There may be a fix in the forums or Github.
