Agencies Still supporting ConcreteCMS

I got off the phone with a potential client at our agency, Trivera Interactive, and they said they were told by their current devloper that CCMS was going away and they HAD to go to WordPress. Anyone else out there hearing that?

This is not true. More likely the current dev company is looking to make some $$ moving them to wordpress.

we have to use wp more and more because a lot of people know how to use it.
if clients want to know about concrete, they are turned off by its complexity and that only few know to handle it.
since the wysiwyg feature has weakend in v.9, we run out of arguments. knowing how cranky wp is, we always try to sell concrete-with success sometimes.

LOL yet another sales person blatantly lying to get a sale.

Concrete CMS is still trucking along so far as I know.

Oh, what a nice reply. But we are not selling and we are not lying.
We simply share facts. We perfectly know what is under the hood of concrete but there are a lot of users out there who just know how to work with Wordpress. No matter how good it is. That was the question in this thread. Many people love junk food – some know it is not gourmet, while others simply want to get something they already know.

What I really think would be helpful - some Videos that showcase “typical Usecases for laymen”. For the current version.
I didn’t say I have the capacity to do it. But showing how “easy” the handling of concreteCMS ist would be a nice entry.

A video to show how to get something done in the File Manager would be nice, even for me and I’m in there all the time. Still can’t figure out which function is on which dropdown without a lot of hunting.

Or re-design the File Manager.

Re: Help Video; I remember TMDesigns offered to put a Bedrock/npm Video together. That would be something to help non-professional-users of Concrete and would be a base to of a promised modern Technology.

I think you guys misunderstood the ‘blatantly lying to get a sale’ - that would be in regards to the ‘current developer’ referenced in the original post, and not carmel.
