Any way to change a Layout's column count once saved?

Currently running Concrete version 9.1.3.

I’m needing to update some of the Layouts that I’ve had on my page(s) for some time to have more or fewer columns, but when I edit the Layout, the Columns number is inactive and won’t let me change the value. Is this expected behavior?

Is the only way to update the columns in a Layout to create a new Layout to replace the old one? This seems wildly inefficient. Why can’t I just change the value on an existing layout?

Personally, I have found no other way but to insert a new set of columns and then drag the blocks from the old to the new. Always feels silly to have to do that but maybe I just don’t know what I’m doing LOL

I noticed that for some layout you can change the number of columns and for others you can’t. Fortunately it’s quite easy to create a new layout and drag all the content over.

You have to create a new layout, move the blocks, and delete. This is so annoying!

Yeah, I would say it’s the opposite of “easy”. You have to create a new layout, specify the number of columns, save the layout, then edit the layout again (because you can’t move it until it’s created) by hopefully hovering over the right part of the layout so the “Edit Layout” item appears in the context menu, grab the move bar, and then carefully pull it up the page to the position you want (for a page with lots of different sections, this can be slow and finicky).

It’d be one thing if you could click on the page somewhere and select “create new layout here”, or even move it into place when you’re initially creating it, but you can’t. It’s several extra steps.
