Is there an easy way of setting up a blog with the built-in tools?
There is a way but there is not an easy way. When configured it can be made really easy for users but actually getting it up in the first place is a bit of an arcane incantation.
Some themes have one pre-setup. That might be your best option.
Concrete ships with a blog in it if you use the Atomik theme, so that’s pretty easy.
Beyond that:
- Make a page called blog.
- Make pages under that page for blog posts.
- Put a page list block on the blog page and limit it to only pages below this parent.

@JeffPaetkau I have to agree with Franz on this one… it’s pretty easy. I just did it on one of my customers sites and probably took at most 10 minutes. Using Page List blocks and topic filters on the base blog page and then just standard page types with basic output formatting and you’re off and running pretty quick. If you want comments to your blog page, just add the comments block with the appropriate settings.

what page type and template do I use for main Blog page? what page type and template do I use for Blog entries pages? I just get blank pages even when I have blog entries. And how do I create a topic tree?
You could try the ‘Blog Module’ package, once installed it sets up everything for you including ‘Blog index’ and ‘Blog Post’ page types. It used to be in the CMS MP but it seems to have disappeared. I think it mentioned it wouldn’t with version 9, however it works for us using 9.5.2 and PHP 8.5.6?

My version is the same as the GitHub version. After you unzip the download you will need to remove the word ‘main’ from the folder name, then it should install.
In phone view, the blog content needs left padding. where do I do this? And how do I make blog title always h2?
