CKeditor popup when cursor is over editing area

Hi everybody
Whenever I work with CKEditor moving my cursor over the editing area this popup appears. In older installations it show up as “Page2”. Very confusing, specially for editors of our client.

Does anybody know:

  1. What is it?
  2. What does it do, sort of tracking?
  3. How do I get rid of it?
    and
  4. What is the future of Ckeditor?

Thanks for shining light on this.

That could be a browser extension showing diagnostic information.

Don’t think so. Appears in firefox, chrome and safari.
The number, followed by WYSYWIG-Editor, cke-… changes everytime the block is reedited. Format looks more like “ALT” tag or Tooltip in HTML.

I remember @frz detected a similar thing years ago, but I couln’t find it in the old forum.

I confirm this issue. It’s has been around for years in different text formats.

I never knew what it is for and would like to know too.

Thanks for confirming @cobyR. It seems that only few users see it or bother with it. Maybe a knowledgeable person can read what I found in the dev tool pane.

I’ve seen this as well.

Can you specify browser? Is it Firefox? Or every browser?

not in onion, in opera i cannot tell

Ah gotcha, sorry I missed that. So yeah I can recreate that, seems worth making an issue for because it is a bit distracting - thx!:
