Community Store with ConcreteCMS9 & PHP8

I have previously setup a Community Store site with Concrete8 and PHP7 and it still works fine but would like to upgrade it or certainly start seriously using Concrete9.

The GitHub page for Community Store states it is “intended to be run in a PHP 7 environment” but with PHP7.4 being EOL and PHP8 becoming the standard for Concrete9 what is the recommended best practice here?

I’m aware that PHP7.4 LTS exists but I wonder for how long before even that is deprecated.

Is it practical and safe to use the latest Concrete and PHP with Community Store or is that too cutting edge?

Would love some advice.

alex

That just sounds like the Github page needs an update. I’d adjust that.

Community Store is intended to run on the same version of PHP as the latest version of Concrete (so 8.3, etc).

If you do hit any bugs running the latest versions of everything, please let us know on Github!
