On previous version of concrete you could edit the file properties in the upload window. for example: change the file name, add to a existing set or create a new set and add to that.
This has all gone, which means to edit a file name i have go into each file one at a time… its so slow!
Can i request we have that fantastic feature back again, or something similar when uploading please?
Unfortunately, they’ve decided to bury a lot of the common functions under several sub-menus/buttons with little rhyme or reason so ‘hunting’ has become a common pastime for me. The File Manager has been a mess for a while now but nobody seems to care except clients who are becoming increasingly frustrated with an interface that used to make sense but no longer does. I think it’s a case of ‘the curse of expertise’ where the only people testing the usability are the designers who, of course, know where they put everything. This problem has crept into lots of areas of concrete where the terminology/vocabulary/labels give regular users no indication of what they do or how to use them. Concrete used to be aimed at the ‘common man’ but alas, no more. Remember when a mere mortal could build a theme? Ha! Sorry for the rant but I don’t think I’m wrong.
My Snapshot addon includes a drag & drop uploader that provides (optionally) adding titles and descriptions before files are uploaded, renaming files and adding files to filesets or folders.
I usually configure it to create a folder matching the site page tree, so every page has a folder with its files. But there are plenty of other options.
You can try a demo of the Drag & Drop uploader at
