Free GMAIL account not working anymore?

Just after some confirmation as I have gotten a few contradictory results in my own checking.

Is it no longer possible to send emails from concreteCMS with Gmail SMTP with a free gmail.com email address??

Happy if the answer is no, just would like some back up. Cheers

It is still possible.

Did you enable multi authentication? (Which I highly recommend to do so).

If yes, you need to set-up app password for SMTP via My Account section
https://myaccount.google.com/security

I just googled it and found the nice instruction. (didn’t read in-depth, though)

thanks, that was the missing point. It wont allow you to create an app password unless you have multi Authentication.

This allowed me to get it to work, albeit very slowly , takes a while to send.
