.htaccess file 9.1.3

Sorry if this a stupid question, but what has happened to the .htaccess file in v 9.1.3 ?

I have installed 2 instances of 9.1.3 on my localhost (linux mint 21, php8.1 & apache 2.4), and there is no .htaccess files - why ?

I made 1 installation from the command line and the other with composer, both site seem to work ok.

I am wondering how I will redirect to https when I move the site to the server?

This should get created if you go under Dashboard → System & Settings → URLs and Redirection and check the box for “Remove index.php from URLs” you can also set your Canonical URL there which if you check “Only render at canonical URLs.” will redirect to that URL all the time.
