In Optimization, CSS and JavaScript Post-Processing, I choose “On” to minify and combine assets loaded via registerAssets in page_theme. ccm v.9.5.4, php 8.5
It combines but does not minify as it describes above.
Anything I haven’t seen? Something in the caches?

I think the minification has been removed from Concrete CMS. Even though it throws no error it does not minify anymore.

In v9 the ‘minify’ and the ‘combine’ options were removed.
Keeping them in your code won’t hurt anything but it will also not do anything. You then have 4 things to keep in mind:
If your code should be backward compatible leave these options in place
If your code is for v9 only just remove these options
If it’s important for your project, start providing already minified and possibly combined assets yourself
If your code makes independent use of the minifier class that was included in the core, find an alternative as it was also removed
It’s a little confusing:
The CCM Interface in /Dashboard/Optimization; CSS and JavaScript Post-Processing: The description is still saying “minify” available.
The concrete tutorial 2021 is also not correct, “combining” is not removed, v.9.5.4 still combines.
First v9.0, combining was removed, as was the LESS compiler, because the core and Atomik were now SASS over Bedrock and groups of assets had become larger features. But that broke back compatibility too badly, many developers complained, so enough (but not all) of it was put back in.
Thanks for clarification. So just the help-block text should read:
Combines assets while loading pages to reduce web server requests. May slow initial page request time. Most sites can safely leave this disabled.
