News: Mega Menu 3.0 has been released

I’m so thrilled to share this news.

This is a major re-build from the ground up of one of the most popular Concrete add-ons of all time with dozens of new features and improvements. There are simply too many to list. But I’ll try:

  • up to 70% faster page loading
  • 12 included professionally designed skins (designers can create their own skins)
  • dark mode support
  • full styling customization (padding, font size, Google Fonts, padding, alignment, etc)
  • dozens of drop-down layouts
  • member integration
  • multilingual support
  • RTL support
  • Improved accessibility
  • 28 bundled Page List blocks + 2 bonus blocks for advanced drop-down content
  • and more…

If you’ve used Mega Menu in the past, you won’t recognise it now. And if you haven’t taken a look yet, do yourself a favour and check the 3-minute intro video… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvPp6vbu7qU

Full details, including demos and screenshots, can be found on my revamped website:

And Mega Menu now includes comprehensive online documentation to help you get the most out of it (20 chapters, over 15,000 words!): https://c5extras.com/add-ons/mega-menu/guide

Plus 8 step-by-step tutorial videos cover all the topics you need to know: https://c5extras.com/add-ons/mega-menu/guide/how-use

It’s now live in the Concrete marketplace and still at the original price of US$15 for a limited time: https://market.concretecms.com/products/mega-menu/c5f93e86-d018-11ee-b9df-0a97d4ce16b9

If you’re on the fence, grab a copy now because the price will be increasing in December.

Over 400+ hours went into development, planning, testing and writing documentation for version 3.0. So even at the increased price, it’s still a bargain.

The first version of Mega Menu was released 13 years ago, back on 1 July 2011. A lot has changed on the Internet since then, and this new version takes my 26+ years of web development experience and combines all the latest advancements in web standards and technology to make the best navigation add-on for Concrete, hands down.

I might be biased, but take a look and tell me what you think.

Oh, if you purchased a license for Mega Menu between November 2023 and June 2024, send me a DM with a screenshot of your email receipt and I’ll issue you a free license for Mega Menu 3.0 on the new marketplace: Profile :: Concrete CMS Community
I don’t want anyone to miss out!

Looks fantastic!!! A well overdue advanced navigation addon.

Thanks so much for the kind feedback

So to buy a license for this addon (and other addons in the marketplace) users must signup to an auto renewal subscription.

If there was an option to buy a 12 month license as a ‘One Off’ payment to include just 12 months of developer support, I think you would sell more licenses.

The lack of a ‘non-auto-renewing-subscription’ is the reason I decided not to buy this addon, I know you can subscribe and then cancel the auto renewal but why make it awkward for users who don’t want an auto renewing subscription, just give them the option of a ‘One Off Payment’ or an ‘Auto Renewing Subscription’

@ConcreteOwl Thanks for your feedback. As a 3rd party developer I don’t control the structure and functionality of the marketplace and I’ve seen other developers provide feedback to the core team that they would like more control around this pricing option too. I’m like you, and would prefer once-off option to be the default. Or at least let the developer choose. It feels sneaky otherwise.
I’m aware that the core team is listening to feedback and has a number of tweaks to the marketplace in the pipeline, and I’m hoping that will get updated sooner than later. But since I don’t make these calls I can’t guarantee anything.

If you feel by not buying this add-on that I poured hundreds of hours into due to a factor that I don’t control is the best way for you to protest the marketplace pricing model, that’s your choice. But I hope you’d reconsider.
I’m confident that you and your clients will benefit a lot from Mega Menu 3.0 - and that’s what I’m 100% focused on - making my customers happy.

For other users who don’t want to pay for Mega Menu on a subscription basis, I feel you. While I can’t control the Concrete marketplace, here are instructions for cancelling the subscription in less than 30 seconds:

  1. Make the purchase as usual from the marketplace.
  2. Navigate to your “subscriptions” under your Concrete account.
  3. Click “cancel subscription” next to Mega Menu.
    Done!

You will still get free updates and support for 1 year from the date of purchase.

Hope this helps.

You actually need to navigate to “Subscriptions” under your Concrete Account and then cancel subscription.
This worked for me, thanks @jb1

Ah whoops! I had linked to the subscriptions page, but used “licenses” as the anchor. Fixed that typo now. Thank you for the sharp eyes.
