I can clik on blog for the demo blog. but there is no way for me to add a blog post or to remove the canned blog posts.
If the Blog feature is not properly installed it wont work. Make sure your theme is supporting Blogs. Otherwise you can reinstall the Blog if you accidentally deleted parts with this paid addon:
You can also install this older package by a3020, available in Github
It should still work.
Blog posts are pages. To delete a blog post you just delete the page. You can do it from the sitemap. You’ll find all blog posts below the “Blog” page.
To add a post you create a new page, select the blog page as its parent and the “blog entry” page type.
Blog entries use composer most of the time which is a streamlined way to add your blog post content.
So if it was set up properly, once you have your new draft page, click on the top left cog icon and from the menu that slides from the left select composer.
you’ll be presented with a form to enter page title, URL, post content, thumbnail… you just have to fill it to your liking and then publish.
Thanks so much for the reply and thanks so much for a friggin incredibly awesome CMS app. I have used EVERY CMS app since 1997. Yikes, you guys must have gone without sleep for a solid year. Im amazed that not many know of this CMS app. You guys can do a better job at informing the public about this. For sure, you need a more impactful logo. “Talk to the hand” is not very inviting. Something along the lines of a megaphone would be more appropriate. You really need a total rebranding and should spend a significant amount of time with a think tank. You say concrete … I say shoes at the bottom of the east river. With a large community you can solicit a new name and a new logo. Then you can post a poll to see what the community thinks is the best. Or you can leave it and be happy with status quo. Just sayin.
Also, I will opt out of the built in blog. Its not a simple operation like standard blog apps. I use a stand alone app in a subdirectory on other websites that I own. It’s quite simple to use.
Well…made some headway. Sitemap got me where I needed to be. Ugggg what a journey that was. Anyway, I was practicing with my first post. Filled out the form. I saw 2 icons…publish and edit. I wasnt ready to publish so my curiosity made me click edit. Why would there be an edit button if I am in edit mode already? Anyway, a new page with my test post appeared informing me that it has not yet been published. There was a link at the top of the draft page that said DRAFT. I clicked on that and it brought me to the home page in edit mode. Now I can not find the draft. I went to dashboard and back to the list of pages. First line said Draft. I clicked on that and again, right back to the homepage edit. So I returned again to the list of pages. Draft was there as expected. This time I clicked on the recycle icon and that changed Draft to !draft. Uggg. not fun at all. Where is the draft post and what is the consequence of Draft being renamed to !draft?
