Task troubles - can anyone relate?

Hi,

Currently i have multiple sites where sometimes tasks stagnate. Often this is the ‘Remove Old Page Versions’- and ‘Reindex Content’ Task. I receive a cron message with the message “PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size exhausted”.
Furthermore i have some custom tasks that work fine when i run them from the interface but as soon as the cron starts the tasks they stagnate. There is no clear cause.
I did see some messages about the EntityManager being closed but no DB errors that could explain that.
Are more of you experiencing issues with tasks?

Automation Tasks slow and or freeze

We are facing issues with the automation tasks. They are very slow and often freeze. According to our hosting partner this happens because these tasks use to much memory. This happens mostly when running the “Generate thumbnails” and “Rescan files” tasks. On version 8 we never had these issues. What is causing this? More important how can we fix this? Thank you.
