Needing to update a couple of my older sites that are running v8.5.1. Have downloaded 8.5.12 but getting a message “strongly discourage upgrade see notes”, but there are no notices listed. Can this be done without messing up the sites? Thanks in advance for your replies!
Personally I would upgrade to 8.5.2 first then 8.5.10.
After that move up to 8.5.12.

I would do this on a development server first using copies of the database and file system.
This way you are not risking the ‘Live’ site at all.
When the upgrade has been completed successfully, just replace the ‘Live’ files and database with the upgraded ones.

Thanks for your offer for the upgrade. Please give me a price AlphaHD.com. I am in the process of adding a new business venture to the site so a page is hidden. Would there be an advantage to redoing the site in 9?
