Updating Concrete5 from Version 8.4.0 - Pixel Theme

Hello Forum Community,

I currently have a site built on Concrete5 using the Pixel Theme. The version of Concrete5 is 8.4.0 and we are experiencing some issues with the scrolling function on drop-down menus, errors with submission forms, and more.

It has been recommended that we update our version of Concrete5 to the most current version as the first step in resolving some of these issues, but I am wary of how such a significant update may affect the website and its functionality. How should I approach the update? Will the site be negatively affected?

Secondly, I need assistance from a developer who is familiar with the Pixel Theme. The nature of the content on the site has changed and the site has become a lot heavier since the theme was chosen in 2012. I would like to know if the theme is still suitable for the site.
